Alive Today.

Live online classes with Darin Somma (Yogeshwar). IAYT Certified Yoga Therapist, teaching in the living tradition of Her Holiness Amma Sri Karunamayi.

About Sri Yoga

Sri Yoga is the ancient science of liberation, rooted in the teachings of the Rishis and brought into the modern world through the grace of Her Holiness Amma Sri Karunamayi. The asana, the breathing, and the meditation are not just wellness and self-improvement — they are doors into a much older practice with a much higher aim: mokṣa, the liberation of the human being.

"Sri" means "most sacred". Sri Yoga is simply approaching the ancient science of liberation with reverence. The sincere pursuit of mokṣa as the ultimate aim of human life. -- Yogeshwar

What follows are the following services offered: a weekly live class open to all levels, one-on-one yoga therapy, and a growing library of study materials for the dedicated student.

Her Holiness Amma Sri Karunamayi
Lineage

The practice taught here was given by Her Holiness Amma Sri Karunamayi.

Born in 1958 on Vijayadashami (the most sacred day of the Divine Mother), a birth prophesied by Bhagavan Ramana Maharshi, Amma gifts to humanity are recognized by the highest Vedic authorities. In 2010 Her Holiness blessed Darin to teach a 10-asana practice — a sequence with power to heal the body, the mind, and for spiritual evolution towards mokṣa as the ultimate aim. Sri Yoga sessions use this practice as a selfless service to invoke the grace of Divine Mother for the benefit of our world home.

"Living on this Earth is a boon from God. Utilize this boon. Give selfless service to the world." Amma Sri Karunamayi

Darin Somma · Yogeshwar

Darin Somma has been teaching meditation and yoga for over twenty years, primarily in Washington D.C. and online. He is a Certified Yoga Therapist with the International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT) — serves on the board of Taksha University's Institute of Yoga Therapy and Meditation, and teaches as yoga therapy faculty for The Mindfulness Center in Washington DC.

In 2010, Amma Sri Karunamayi personally blessed him to teach a unique yoga asana practice: a sequence transmitted from the benevolent wisdom of the Rishis, designed not just for health but for the direct acceleration of spiritual evolution. He has taught it in seminars and workshops across the country to students of every background.

His academic training is in mathematics, physics, philosophy, and psychology. He loved the analytical tools of science, but found the deeper questions of human existence pointing unmistakably beyond them — and turned to yoga, devoting himself fully to that inquiry ever since.

He is the author of Yoga is Union (over 10,000 copies sold) and the forthcoming Final Surrender. To study, the easiest place to start is a weekly class.

To study Yoga as a sacred science of liberation. To honor the living tradition as a source of wisdom for our lives, our families, and our world home.
