Darin Somma · Yogeshwar
Darin Somma (Yogeshwar) has taught meditation and yoga in Washington D.C. and online since 2001, and has never let a week pass without at least one donation-basis class. He is a Certified Yoga Therapist with the International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT) — serves on the board of Taksha University's Institute of Yoga Therapy and Meditation, and teaches as yoga therapy faculty for The Mindfulness Center in Washington DC.
In 2010, Amma Sri Karunamayi personally blessed him to teach a unique yoga asana practice: a sequence transmitted from the benevolent wisdom of the Rishis, designed not just for health but for the direct acceleration of spiritual evolution. He has taught it in seminars and workshops across the country to students of every background.
His academic training is in mathematics, physics, philosophy, and psychology. He loved the analytical tools of science, but found the deeper questions of human existence pointing unmistakably beyond them — and turned to yoga, devoting himself fully to that inquiry ever since.
He is the author of Yoga is Union (over 10,000 copies sold) and Final Surrender (2026). To study, the easiest place to start is a weekly class.
